This is our Bechstein Model S Baby Grand Piano, manufactured in Germany in 1938 and presented in a beautiful satin mahogany case with 88 keys and 2 pedals. The Model S is one of Bechstein's more compact grand pianos, making it particularly well suited to the home while still offering the touch, tonal colour and character associated with a traditional German grand. This particular piano has been restored during its life and remains in lovely condition, with the satin mahogany case giving it a warm and understated appearance. It has a responsive, comfortable action and a beautifully warm and singing tone, with plenty of colour across the keyboard and a particularly pleasant mellow quality. Despite its compact proportions, it has a satisfying depth of sound and the distinctive musical character that makes older Bechstein grands so enjoyable to play.
