This is our Bösendorfer 280 Concert Grand Piano, manufactured in Austria in 1980 and presented in a traditional black polyester case with 92 keys and 3 pedals. At approximately 280cm (9'2") long, this is a substantial concert grand, offering the scale, power and tonal depth associated with Bösendorfer's larger instruments. Its impressive proportions, elegant black case and beautifully detailed cast-iron frame make it a commanding instrument, both visually and musically. This particular example remains in largely original, unrestored condition, retaining much of its character. The black polyester case shows signs of age and previous use, with various cosmetic imperfections, and should not be mistaken for a newly restored or refinished instrument. Importantly, the piano is in very good playing condition, having been carefully maintained and recently received further work to its action. It offers a responsive, enjoyable touch and the rich, resonant tonal character for which Bösendorfer concert grands are so highly regarded. A wonderful opportunity to acquire a full-size Austrian concert grand with genuine history and originality, particularly appealing to pianists who prioritise musical performance and character over a cosmetically perfect cabinet.
